Memories

It is amazing the things that will spark a cherished memory...
A couple of weeks ago we went to Callaway Gardens for my sisters birthday.

On the way home we all stopped at a Cracker Barrell in Columbus, GA. On their front porch was an old washing machine that looked something like this one.

My mind immediately wandered back to many happy days that I spent with my aunt and uncle in Alabama. She had a washer that looked something line this green one. I used to love to do laundry
on that ole' thing. Putting clothes through the wringer (as she would say).
She always said BE careful, dont get caught in that thing. I would say "I'm a big girl, I can do it". (But honestly, I am not sure how clean those clothes were I just mainly played in the water and suds).

Oh, how I miss those summers and those endless days. Sitting around with her cracking nuts, shelling peas, picking the peas and cukes out of the garden. We would spend hours doing nothing but sitting and sharing and laughing.
I remember she had an old swing on the front porch, I would swing and swing and swing..... and sometime at night I would spy on my older cousin...and her boyfriends when they were on the (my) swing. Her swing look something like this one and hung in the same place on her front porch.
Great memories....... cant wait to see what sparks the next one....

Enjoy!
