Pier Park Visit

A couple of weeks ago we had the privelege of going to Panama City to visit our brand new little nephew. There are pictures from that visit on a previous post.  He is so adorable.  While we were visiting we took the older girls to Pier Park for a couple of hours so that my brother and his wife could have some special time with the brand new baby.

Here are a few pictures from our visit.

Special Moments

This past Tuesday I had some "girlie" surgery done...meaning I had my "girlie" parts taken out.
And today when I got home from the hospital these two beautiful girls had sent me some get well wishes.  Their cards made me smile.
And of course I felt better immediatedly.  They are such sweet girls.
These  frames are from the card that Ms. Molly made for me. She did it all by herself.  The interpretation Reads: To Aunt Sheila and Uncle Marty. From Molly.         "Dear Aunt Sheila  I hope you feel better I love You.  I hope you will be better next time. Thank you for takin me to Pier Park. XOXOXOX

The other side of the card read:  Dear Uncle Marty I love you very much. Thank you for taking me to Pier Park XOXOXOXOX
This is a picture of Uncle Marty, Aunt Sheila, Ms Victoria and Ms. Molly.  We had so much fun at Pier Park with these girls.  They are our nieces, but we claim them as our own.  And yes we spoil them just a little bit.

And these two frame are from the card that Ms. Victoria made for me.  She did it all by herself too.
She is older so I am sure that you can figure it out on your own.

I will try and post pictures from our Pier Park later.

We also got a card from the whole family sending me well wishes.

I have been looking and looking for something new for our master bath.
And... just when I was just about to give up... the other day I was in Pier 1 and found this great little picture/wall art. It is perfect.

Memories

Today as I read a post of a fellow blogger I was reminded of some of my "bestest" childhood memories.

The blogger is Judy over at "just a little something for you.blogspot.com".

Her blog was mostly about tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches (which I love, by the way).

But the photo was of a wood stove...it looked something like this one above... The picture wis what triggered the memory for me. (Thanks Judy)

********************************

The post reminded me of when I was little girl. After school I would go to my great-grandmother's house and I would sit with her by her wood stove.
When it was cold, you would always find her there.
Sitting with her apron on, stoking the fire. She and I would sit
for hours and she would talk about "the old days" and family and
she would share so many memories.

Her wood stove look more like this one.

She was a great woman. And these were great memories. :)

St. Augustine with "My Peeps/Family"

Here are some pictures from my recent trip to St. Augustine.
One of my FAVORITE places to go.

This time I got to share it with some of my family.

This is the peeps trying to decide what we are going to do first.

This is the peeps exchanging phone numbers so we can catch back up .

Just strolling and enjoying ourselves.
The view of the Fort. We are going there for the history buffs in our group. Kevin and Howard.
You will meet them later in a photograph.

At the Fort Gate. This is my mom, Ms. Judy, and Mr. Howard.
Literally hanging on the Guard. He was such a good sport.

This is Jon, my sister's new beau. And Ms. Judy at the steps.
She said...."There's NO way I am going up all those stairs, see you kids,
when you come back down."
Inside the Fort. It really was cool in there. History-wise that is.
The weather was pretty warm that day.

The 11:30 a.m. shooting of the cannons. I only have one word for it..."LOUD".

This is Kevin, we are related by marriage. You will meet his lovely wife later in the next photo

On the far left is the lovely Janet, my cousin, Kevin's wife.
I am in the Middle, and My Beautiful Sister is on the right.

This is my beautiful sister and her new beau, Jon.

This is Kevin and Janet. He is happy to be here at the Restaurant...

She isn't quite sure .....

This is Mr. Howard on the left. And my Beautiful mom on the right.

This is the lovely Janet... trying on her halo. We wouldn't let her buy it because if she wore it then she would be pretending to be something she isn't. (Just kidding) She is an angel. Just look at those eyes you can see for yourself.

This is the wonderful Ms. Judy trying on a new hat. She has about a thousand at home already.
She kept us laughing the whole weekend.

And last but not least, this is me...trying on a hat...and someone snapped a photo...hmmm.

We had a wonderful time. The weather was absolutely beautiful. I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

Weekend Project

Today is 10-10-10.

We won't see that date again.

I was inspired to share my weekend project with my blogger friends.

I spend my Saturday morning doing this project.

It actually only took a couple of hours.

Wanted a new look for the foyer.

This is the finished project in the foyer now.

This is what the table looked like before.

I decided that I wanted to update it... so here is the after photo.

Fall Decorating Results

Happy Fall Ya'll

The photo above is the fall centerpiece that is now sitting on the "buffet" in my dining are.

Simple but colorful.

I love fall it is my favorite season.

All the earth tones... the greens, browns, orange, yellow... etc.

These colors are some of my favorites.

Just ask my girls, they will tell you I love the wear the fall color palette.

This is the fall centerpiece I decided to go with for my dining table.

I love the green and white together.

The tray is one that I found on *s*a*l*e*. According to my husband this is one of my favorite words.

He (my knight) isn't quite so sure about the white pumpkins.

He thinks that all pumpkins are orange.....

Still haven't decide what to do with the foyer table. Right now ther is just a pumpkin that says "Welcome Friends".

I guess it will have to do for now.
