I'm Back

Wow! Where does the time go?  It just flies on by.
I cannot believe it has been over a year since my last blog. I do check in on occasion to read the other blogger's posts.
I just stopped by and notices that a lot of the blogs that I use to follow have gone away.
This makes me a little sad.  However, I guess there is always other things that need to be done.
I am going to make an effort to start posting again.
Hopefully, some of my previous followers and bloggers will check in and read, and hopefully be inspired to try again.
Life has been busy.
Last November, my Knight and I celebrated 30 years of marital bliss.  We too a cruise. It was so much fun.
Hope you enjoy the pictures from our cruise.

One Month Old Today

Today is your one month check-up! Can’t believe it has already been a whole month.
You have brightened each one of those days.
Your mommy has been sending nana pictures… and I smile every  time I see one of them.
Here is a picture of you and your mommy today.  You are in your cute little dress-all dressed up and your are smiling!

Look at how adorable you are!  You are precious.
By the way, Nana calls you her Angel Baby.  But you are your mommy’s princess…
Papa calls you his Kylee-Bear.

Love this baby girl.

She and I went to tell my mom.  This is her expression when she found out she was going to be a GREAT-grandmother.  She was so happy.  I was glad that our daughter was able to give her the news in person.

We were finally given the ok to spread the news of the new family addition that will be joining us late April or early May 2012.

God is So Faithful

It seems that this is the word that keeps coming to me lately.  So I finally looked it up in the 'ole dictionary.

Webster defines it as:

faith·ful

adjective
1.
strict or thorough in the performance of duty: a faithful worker.
2.
true to one's word, promises, vows, etc.
3.
steady in allegiance or affection; loyal; constant: faithful friends.
4.
reliable, trusted, or believed.
5.
adhering or true to fact, a standard, or an original; accurate: a faithful account; a faithful copy.

I have found that God is faithful in all things.  In His timing.
He is thorough is all He does.
He is true to His Word, and keeps His primises.
He is steady in His allegianc and His affection towards us.  He is loyal, constant.
He is reliable, He can be trusted and we Can believe in Him.
He is accurate and true to fact.
I have found him to MORE than enough.
Thank you God for your faithfulness to me!

God is Good All The Time!

Today is Day 9 of Post-Surgery for me. I had some major surgery on the 26th of July.  I spent the first three days in the hospital and the past 6 at home.  The surgery requires a minimum of 4--6 weeks of recovery.  Then return to your normal schedule S-L-O-W-L-Y....   So I have taken the month of August off from work.

Today as I continue my  r-e-c-o-v-e-r-y.  The daily routine of sleep, eat, walk (only a little bit), sleep, eat, laze around, eat, walk, lay around some more...you get the idea.

Well, I was feeling a little weary of all of it.  So I picked up a daily devotional book....

Today's devotion was just for me.

HOLD MY HAND, and walk joyously through the day. Together we will savor the pleasures and endure the difficulties it may bring.  Be on the look-out for everything I have prepared for you:  stunning scenery, bracing winds of adventure, cozy nooks for resting when you are weary and so much more.  I am your Guide, as well as your constant Companion.  I know every step of your journey that is ahead of you, all the way to Heaven.

You don't have to choose between staying close to me and staying on course.  Since I am the Way, staying close to Me IS staying on course.  As you focus your thoughts on me and all I have provided for you, I will guide you carefully along today's journey.

Don't worry about what is around the next bend. Just concentrate on enjoying My Presence and staying in step with Me.

WOW!  As I recover slowly (joyously) I will take the time to continually be thankful for all He has provided for me.   My wonderful "Knight" that is taking such great care of me, A/C, books, beautiful scenery (as I walk), food, cozy nooks for that much needed rest, cozy pajamas for these lazy days, and so much more that I couldnt begin to list.

Love to all of you my blogger friends.
God is good all the time. He knows just what we need when we need it!!!

Special Moments

This past Tuesday I had some "girlie" surgery done...meaning I had my "girlie" parts taken out.
And today when I got home from the hospital these two beautiful girls had sent me some get well wishes.  Their cards made me smile.
And of course I felt better immediatedly.  They are such sweet girls.
These  frames are from the card that Ms. Molly made for me. She did it all by herself.  The interpretation Reads: To Aunt Sheila and Uncle Marty. From Molly.         "Dear Aunt Sheila  I hope you feel better I love You.  I hope you will be better next time. Thank you for takin me to Pier Park. XOXOXOX

The other side of the card read:  Dear Uncle Marty I love you very much. Thank you for taking me to Pier Park XOXOXOXOX
This is a picture of Uncle Marty, Aunt Sheila, Ms Victoria and Ms. Molly.  We had so much fun at Pier Park with these girls.  They are our nieces, but we claim them as our own.  And yes we spoil them just a little bit.

And these two frame are from the card that Ms. Victoria made for me.  She did it all by herself too.
She is older so I am sure that you can figure it out on your own.

I will try and post pictures from our Pier Park later.

We also got a card from the whole family sending me well wishes.

Safe and Secure

Those are words that keep coming to me as I think about the past, present and future.
One of my favorite saying or quotes is "God is Good All the Time".  Yes, He is.  Even though sometimes (in the moment or the season that we may be in) we may not feel it or believe it.
But when we look back we can see that He was in control all along.
Back to the title of ths post.  Next week I will be having some surgery.  I am trying my best not to think about it.  But when I do I do not feel apprehesive or nervous for I know that with God I will be SAFE AND SECURE in His arms.  Surrounded by His love. Under His protection.
For it is all within His timing.  For the past year I have been having alot of unexplained pain, that just would not subside.  After many tests and much testing of my patience finally we were able to figure out what was going on.
It has taken many weeks to finally get everything scheduled for next week.
But during all of this He has kept me safe.  He has kept me feeling secure.
With Him all things are possible and they are within His time-frame and not ours.
If I have not learned anything else through this process I have learned to trust in Him and what He thinks is best and when He thinks is best.

p.s. if you read this please take a moment and whisper a prayer for me.

An Answered Prayer

I just wanted to take a few minutes to update everyone that has been praying for me and following what has been going on with me.

For the past 20 years I have worked at the same place for the same person. As an office manager for a small individually-owned business. I love my job. I love what I do. However, it is an extra-curricular type business (Taxidermy). Which means it is more of a pleasure than a necessity for people. Last August (2010) business began to slow down considerably and we had to cut hours. Everyone's hours including mine. Since August I have been looking for a new job. Either a full-time job with equal hours and pay, or for a part-time job to compensate for the hours I would be losing. Nothing seemed to work out for several weeks ... weeks that turned into months...

I looked, I applied, I looked, and applied some more.. with no success.

Then one day, while sitting in my car (yes, feeeling sorry for myself). I was reminded of the scripture Psalm 37:4 that says... "Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the deisres of your heart. I realized that even though I had friends praying with me and for me...I myself had neglected to ask God for "specifically" what I wanted (desired). So, I prayed that God would open a door and provide something for me.

Over the next couple of weeks I went on several interviews, I didnt really feel impressed that any of these were for me ... BUT I didnt want to be too picky or miss what God may have for me... so I waited patiently...but nothing worked out. But I held fast to the promises of God.

Then the week of January 10th-14th--on Wed. the12th--I went on an interview (that lasted about 10 minutes), I left there thinking... hum...nice guy, nice possibility. But strange interview...so short...

Later while I was at work (at my regular job), the phone rings and they (the place I interviewed) was calling for an employee reference. (No, I didn't give my own reference, I let the boss). Then about a half an hour later they called me on my cell phone and offered me the job. I started there on the following Wednesday the 19th of January.

God is faithful!!!

Let me say that again,

God is faithful... He didn't just give me a job...He gave me OVER and ABOVE what I had asked.

I am so pleased with the new part-time job He has given me. They are very nice people to work for and with. Plus, I can still wear the same casual clothing I am use to...AND it is only about 5 minutes from my other job. GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!

Thank you God for your blessings on me. I am so grateful. You "God" are my provider.

Let me just say, God's timing is perfect.....

Blessings to all of you... thank you for praying with me.

If you desire something, why not ask your Heavenly Father...He is more than able.....

Enjoy

Yeah! It's Friday

I am so glad I made it to Friday. The weekend is here!!!! Tomorrow will be a morning and lunch with friends. And the afternoon...who knows....probably a pajama afternoon OR maybe Shopping--another of my favorite things to do.

Whew this week has been busy!

As some of you know I have been looking for a part-time job since August to compensate for the hours I have not been getting at my regular job.

Well, thankfully I interviewed at a few places last week and finally got a part-time job and started this week. I will blog more about that later.

So, things have been a little busy. Trying to adjust to a new schedule. Juggling two part-time jobs. Home. And a couple of extra-curricular activities. Plus plan a huge event for the first weekend of March.

Did I say ... w-h-e-w...

Plus, don't forget we MUST keep up with our blogger friends. Sometimes that is the hi-lite of our day. I enjoy reading the post from the blogger friends... It is fun to meet new people and learn about them and their lives and how they spend their time.

As a matter of fact...just this week through my blog..I found out that one of the blog owners of a blog I am following actually lives about an hour from my family. WOW. You never know who you will meet or what you may learn. LOVE IT!!!! LOVE IT!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!

Just want to say.....
Blessings to all of you!

Being Thankful

Be Appreciative for all your Blessings!!

True blessings are those things in your life that are important--the things that touch your heart and soul.

How does being thankful affect our life? It can be encouraging and uplifting to focus on the things that we are grateful for. It can motivate us to move on...to go forward.

Why is it important for us to be thankful? It keeps us focused on the positives in our life.

Everyone should keep a "Thankful Journal". A place to list the individual things we are thankful for each day. Little things...big things...happy things.

Start your list with little things such as your hot coffee in the morning...or the birds singing...or being able to read your devotion...then move on to the bigger things...your job...your transportation...your home. Then as the day goes on add to the list as you "acknowledge " the blessings you are experiencing. You will be surprised at how the list has grown throughout the day. Journaling could change your whole outlook.

Being thankful will ultimate change our thought process also. Our thoughts will be turned to the gratefulness of our heart and the positive things we have going on. This will keep us from focusing on the negative and the things that bring us down.

Here is a simple statement to start off with... "Thank you Lord for all the blessings and abundance in my life.
BLESSINGS

Perfume Friendships

Just like perfume comes in different types of bottles ALL different shapes and sizes...
So do friendships.
The heartfelt counsel of a friend is sweet as perfume and incense. Proverbs 27:9 (NLT)

Friends, they come in all shapes and sizes. Some have big hearts. A few deliver the sunshine of laughter. One may offer a shoulder for you to cry on. One may listen while you whine, while another may speak the truth even when it hurts. One girlfriend may bring food when you are sick, still another may offer a prayer of healing.

Friends will compliment you, encourage you, hug you, watch your kids, and send you cards. Some friends may only call once a year just to catch up on life. Whatever type of friends filter through your life, true healthy friendships are a gift from God.

We learn the importance of friendships at an early age. Throughout our lives we long for friendships. Friends enrich our lives. They walk with us through the valleys of despair and rejoice with us on the mountaintops. Friends "do" life with us.

Which of your friends has been with you through thick and thin? Which friend holds you accountable? Which friend encourages you? Which one make you laugh?

Of course, in order to have good friends means we must be a good friend to others. Certain qualitites promote deep and lasting friendships. Honesty and loyalty are the foundation for friendships that can last a lifetime. Patience, kindness and a sense of humor are essential in developing and maintaining an enduring friendship.

Friendship is one of the true riches we can have in this life.

I thank God for all of my friends.

Dear God, Thank you for giving me a variety of friendships to help me walk the road of life. I am especially grateful for the friends who inspire and encourage me. Lord, teach me how to be a better friend. In your name, I pray. Amen!!

Good Morning! Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for so many things.. I will list the first three that come to mind.

1) The beautiful family that I have (Thanks to the Father above).

2) The friends that God has given me

3) God's love and protection.

God has been so good to us this year. He has continued to meet all of our needs and His blessing are overflowing every day. (Even though sometimes we don't see them or acknowledge them). They are there. I praise Him for all things "BIG and small".

This morning my hubby headed out to the woods to hunt as he normally would on his days off. When I got up he was already back...hmmmm... then he called me into the living room. He wanted to show me a picture (I thought, a deer....YEAH).

Well this is the photo he showed me...

NO it is not a deer.

I know this may not look like a big deal to you, but to me it is.

The photo is as you can tell of a "Fender-Bender".

I wont go into all the details but God protected my hubby and showed GREAT provision for him and for us.

Hopefully, the hubby can fix it so it is drivable.

Until we can get it repaired. If not I guess we will be down to one car....

God is Good. All the time.

Blessing to you all....

Enjoy!!
